Eastern Europe 2008

Hassfurt, EDQT – Brünn, LKTB – Bratislava, LZIB – Budaörs, LHBS – Debrecen, LHDC – Szeged, LHUD – Balaton, LHSM – Graz, LOWG – Klagenfurt, LOWK – Hassfurt, EDQT

This was a wonderful short journey through 5 countries. Except of Bratislava we were pampered by bright sunshine. But it is boring to fly through Hungary. So we were happy when we finally reached the Alps.

Brünn, Bratislava and Debrecen are towns with beautiful old basic structure of buildings. But Budapest is top, specially well worth seeing. The Balaton lake bobs up and down, a lot of hotels were closed and we only found bad service. We felt fine when we reached Austria.

In the eastern countries it is difficult to find AVGAS and in the meantime you have to pay € 2,50 per litre. The tourists stay away. Nothing is anymore reasonable and kindliness is missing.

Our compliments to the northern part of Germany where we did many stops on our way to Scandinavia this summer. We met friendly people, found a good service, perfect catering with best quality and quantity and more reasonable than in the eastern European countries. Our advice: Stay in Germany with your holiday budget and you won’t be disappointed.

But one is unbelievable: This complete flight tour with 1622 NM was less than our leg from Easter Island to Robinson Crusoe which took us 12:15 hours and only the South Pacific with its sharks beneath us.
