Report Round the World (16)

90. Alicante, LEAL – 07.04.08 = 265 NM – 2:12

It was a nice flight along the coast but all is fully crowded by buildings. Our German friends Renate and Rainer gave us an exuberant welcome. Sam, their dog did the same. There were a lot of stories to tell and the red wine was excellent.

91. Beziers, LFMU – 09.04.08 – 415 NM – 2:40

A depression brought us the first time a velocity of 215 kts., so that we had to reduce the speed. Beziers itself is an antiquated grey town.

92. Hassfurt, EDQT – 10.04.08 – 570 NM – 4:04

The landing happened during very ugly weather but the welcome by our twin-daughters Angela and Nathalie was terrific. We’re happy to be at home, again.

Once around the World – till Hassfurt
Journey:
Two inhabitants of Hirschaid flew more than 83 000 km
Hassfurt: Since yesterday Marga and Ralf Hannemann belong to an exquisite circle. Both sport pilots flew around the world with their twin-engine Partenavia, P68C – and over the Pacific. Yesterday afternoon 5 ½ months after their take-off they received a jubilant welcome by the daughters Angela and Nathalie at the airfield of Hassfurt. Over 83 000 km and 340 hours of flying over and through all continents are behind them. “We are happy to be at home, again”, said Marga Hannemann after the landing. “We experienced a lot but it was very exhausting, too.” For refreshment a special Francish Meal waited at home.
