Summer 2008: Scandinavia
20 different destinations were visited:
Juist EDWJ – Helgoland EDXH – Wyk auf Föhr EDXY – Sylt EDXW – Toender EKTD – Thisted EKTS – Kristiansand ENCN – Valle ENVE – Fyresdal ENFY – Eggemoen ENEG – Hamar ENHA – Sunne ESKU – Trollhaettan ESGT – Laesoe EKLS – Endelave EKEL – Soenderborg EKSB – Flensburg EDXF – Wilhelmshave EDWI – Meinerzhagen EDKZ – Hassfurt EDQT
If overnight stays in hotels, aero clubs, cabins, tent, boat or with friends this was arranged when we arrived. The weather was like it was: from variable till lousy but also 100 % sunshine and gusty winds.
After our tour around the world this were relaxing flights like bumming around and made great fun. Scandinavia is still a fantastic natural region for flying. If during day or night you simply land at every airfield with or without controller.
Just get a small tent, sleeping bay, fuel lamp, some food, VFR-charts, and fly. Be in good spirits, have a bright smile on your face during take-off, sooth your soul and meet new and old friends.
