Even with the mandatory flight plan (VFR, IFR or at unmanned airfields) it is easy to fly in Spain and Portugal. Low landing fees and the reasonable AVGAS-price make it enjoyable. All is final polished by polite airport staff, radar- and tower-controllers with good English knowledge.

The weather conditions in March/April were mixed, partly good and partly bad and in FL 80 you found ice by a temperature of – 8° C. Heavy turbulences at the Algarve and the Canary Islands and cross wind up to 25 kts when landing in Menorca are no exceptions.

Barcelona and Madrid are great cities. The mosque-church in Cordoba we found more fascinating than the famous Alhambra in Granada. The Volcano Island Lanzarote, whether from the air or with a rented car, will fill with enthusiasm.
